Description
When space is tight but the job demands strength, turn to Roughneck’s micro shovels - compact in size but packed with durability and versatility.
The Roughneck Micro Bulk Shovel is designed to tackle the heavy bits: think filling bulk bags, shifting mortar or aggregate without needing a full-size spade in cramped quarters.
It features a broad, deep shovel head made of heavy-duty carbon steel, finished with a tumble lacquered coating to resist corrosion and wear. Its compact stature helps you manoeuvre inside containers or around densely packed sites, yet it still gives you serious cutting power at the tip.
A robust Power Ring socket ensures the blade-to-handle join is rock solid, while an extra socket plug keeps debris from building up inside. Fibreglass construction keeps the overall weight manageable, and a soft-grip full-size “D” grip adds comfort when you’re digging day after day. The length comes in at approximately 710 mm (28-inch class) for a good balance of reach and control.
If your job is more about precise digging than big scoops, the Roughneck Micro Shovel (Round) is made for confined zones, tight corners, or trench bottoms.
It carries a round point blade-strong and sharp enough to penetrate soil, roots or compacted aggregate-yet compact enough to keep control in close quarters. It’s also built with heavy carbon steel, matched to a reinforced Power Ring socket for a reliable and sturdy connection.
The fibreglass handle, paired with a full-size D grip, gives you a confident hold even when handling awkward angles or shifting weight. The overall length is about 685 mm (27 inches) with a blade width of approximately 150 mm.
Together, these tools offer a complementary pair: one for moving volume (bulk shovel) and one for precise digging work (round shovel). The design priorities are clear-reduced user fatigue, strong materials, intelligent joint construction and compact geometry to get the job done where larger tools can’t reach.
